Backlit Option
The back illumination accessory allows the user to set regions of interests without ever needing to move from the microscopes eyepiece.
How does it work
To the photometer’s eyepiece we now attach and LED which back illuminates through the photometer to the microscope stage the area that is viewed by the detector. You can make whatever adjustments you need by viewing it directly through the eyepiece of the microscope.
Pinhole Targeting Insert Option
If you are looking to detect areas that are less than 100 microns, as say looking at molecule(s) then you will need a pinhole since the bilateral adjustments will no longer be accurate enough.
The pinhole insert consists of the following: a mechanically backwards-compatible insert that goes in the place of our standard aperture blade assembly. There is a one-inch diameter holder for a laser cut pinhole apertures from 200 µm to 5 µm in diameter (select from list). The pinholes are held in the focal plane of the microscope and can be translated +/- 3 mm from center with easy to use micrometers.
Since the pinholes are so small in diameter, the only way to target them is by backlighting the pinhole with our LED and visually aligning them through the eyepiece of the microscope. The user can target a specific region of interest for the photometer to measure by using the X/Y translation on the pinhole insert or by moving the stage of the microscope. The use of the pinhole allows the customer to isolate a sub 200 µm diameter area for work such as single molecule work.

Dichroic Cubes
The dichroic cubes are required when the photometer is being used in the dual emission form. There are many dichroics available; we supply three different ones as standard.
